greetings from cusco

I thought i´d write a quick update. We left Lima on monday afternoon for a LOOOOOOOOOng busride to Cusco, where we leave to go to Machu Picchu. the bus was supposed to arrive at noon the next day, but was 3 hours late. They were 3 painful hours.

About 5 hours before we got to Cusco, we started going up and down mountains. One mountain we climbed for about 2 hours, back and forth on switchbacks, and reached an altitude 13,000 before descending again. That kind of altitude makes you dizzy, and gives you a headache. Matt looked like he was about to die. He wasn´t eating anything and just stared off into space like a zombie (like he does everytime he´s sick). He was fine when we got to cusco.

We´re about to set off and explore the city. There are tons of shops here, and the main square with tons of churches, several museums, and there are a few incan sites within 5 miles of the city.

Thats all for now. We´ll update when we get back from Machu Picchu (next Tuesday).

Funny Matt. South American countries always tend to make Matt turn funny colors....green, grey, white....
