Hey Family - we just want to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving! Since we're not together to go around and say what we're thankful for, we're posting it here. :)
Doug is thankful for "my family, our business and sweet potato pie."
Laurel is thankful for a heated house, Doug, Jake and Andrew and just to live in the 21st century in general.
Jake is thankful for his toys, books and Heavenly Father (his words!).
Andrew is thankful for loves and snuggles, people who hold and smile at him and for his mom who gets up at 4am every day to feed him.
And we love and are thankful for all of you too!

Here's Jake singing "Gorly Gorly Hallelujah" and then "Brightly Beams our Father's Mercy". I started singing these to him at nighttime when he was little and now he has them both memorized.

Thanks to everyone who prepared and shared food - everything was so wonderful and I wasn't even stressed out with just the turkey and stuffing to fix.

Other excitement here is that Andrew cut his first tooth today! Bottom, front, right tooth. He's not too happy about it, but it's all the way out and visible when he smiles.

I'd fix the pictures in this post to be side by side, but Andrew's up from his nap so I need to run. But last night was great! Can't wait for Amie and Jenna's tree-decorating, soup and sugar cookie night.

After getting a call from Mom yesterday saying "hello, I am looking for my daughter Amie, maybe you know where she is??" I figured that I it might be a good idea to post my current schedule....

Most of you know I work 7 on 7 off, but here's the details:

Monday through Sunday 12:30-11 pm

This happens to be my week off, starting today. But, in December I switch weeks and will be on the opposite schedule.

So, how do I like my job? I actually, really like it. In fact, I am very pleased. It makes working 70 hours a lot easier when you like your job...... Plus, the weeks off are nice, although I haven't been in SLC too much to enjoy it. Tomorrow I'm going to LA, and the next week I'm off I'm going to Lexington for Thanksgiving. Hopefully one of these weeks I'll actually stay here and make some friends :)

Andrew has been in his helmet for a week and a half now and is adjusting really well. At his one-week follow up appointment (after getting the helmet) the orthotic doc said Andrew may only need to be in the helmet for one month! Yea! I guess it just depends how round we want his head. The doctor talks in terms of cephalic ratio, and said Andrew may be w/in the normal range soon. Doug and I aren't so concerned about the percentage though; when his head looks normal we'll be done with the helmet! :) So Andrew's doing well and Jake only asks occasionally for us to take the helmet off. Usually when he wants to give Andrew a kiss. He wears it 23 hours a day. We usually give him a 15 minute break in the morning to wash his hair and the helmet, and then in the evening for a bath.

We're (read: Laurel) really excited for Christmas even though we won't be going anywhere this year. Anyone else ready for the holidays?!

survived the half marathon somehow! busted my knee on the 11th mile but managed to limp across the finish line.
