This is what happens when my roommate moves away and my boyfriend leaves town for a week: I am forced to make new friends- friends who may not have the brightest ideas.

Someday I'll figure out how to actually arrange pictures in these blog posts! Here are a few pictures from Easter. We went to my sister's on Saturday to die Easter eggs and for an egg hunt. Jake loved it all. He filled up two buckets of eggs and half way through realized that they opened and there was candy in them! That was pretty exciting. Except he would take one bite of something and give it to me or Doug so he could go on to the next thing.

It was fun to get together with everyone at Charmain's on Easter. Jake remembers "Great Grandma" because of her treat table. That, and her house is the only place he gets fruit snacks. :)

How was everyone's Easter who wasn't in Utah?!

Doug left this morning for Las Vegas for the SPREE (Specialty Retail Entrepreneur Expo) Convention. Today is just set up and the event runs Tuesday to Thursday. Our displays and signs look great, so hopefully it will be a productive week. There will be kiosk retailers, gift shop owners, mall managers, airport retailers, etc in attendance, Doug is a great salesperson, and our product is fun and unique (outside of Utah!) so we're hoping the combination will be synergistic and lucrative.

This morning while we were eating breakfast Doug told Jake that he was leaving town and what he'd be doing. He told Jake he was going to "dirty Las Vegas" and Jake was fixated on the dirty part. "It it really messy there? Is there a lot of dirt?" ha! ha! He also told me after Doug left, "I will take care of you, Mommy." :)

Andrew is now 11 months old! He babbles a lot, crawls super fast, stands on his own when he's concentrating and doesn't realize he's doing it, and has 6 teeth. Jake talks a lot, loves to sing songs, read books and play outside, and is really into bubbles right now. I bought plastic Eater Eggs the other day and Jake wanted to know what they were for, so I told him about the Easter Bunny; that he comes and fills the eggs up with candy, then hides them around the house and we have to find them. When he woke up from his nap he cried and cried b/c the Easter Bunny didn't come. Oops! I guess two weeks is too much notice to give about this...

Today I accepted a job working as a paralegal-turning-attorney at the law firm of Long Okura in Holladay, UT. The firm does exclusively family law, so I'll spend 95% of my time doing divorces and child custory battles. I'll start almost immediately and will work as a paralegal/law clerk until I get sworn in (hopefully May 18!) at which time I will start taking on actual attorney work. I will be taking on my own cases by mid-summer and will be transitioned into a full time attorney position (read, pay increase) by August 1.

I still haven't managed to take an actual vacation (unless you could the week I spent home last may feverishly scrambling to put together my Virginia bar application for 10 hours a day) and hope that this new job will allow for at least a little time off this summer so I can recuperate from the two bar exams, law school, and putting 16k miles on my car in 8 months (without roadtrips, mind you).

Here's to a legit salary, health insurance, and a law-related job!
